Description
Almost all of the Japanese martial arts follow the same ranking system. Beginner ranks are known as “kyu” and may go from 9th to 1st level. Once a student achieves 1st kyu, they become black belts and begin the “dan” levels. Dan levels may go from 1st to 10th, depending on the art and style. Most arts award ranks to students who show technique proficiency appropriate to their skill level during a grading exam. Schools often encourage students to test to allow them to showcase their commitment to training and development, rather than to develop a competitive environment around tests and ranks.
To earn any rank in traditional Japanese martial arts is an achievement and should be celebrated. A unique certificate of achievement written in Japanese calligraphy not only serves as an official document for ranking, but it also commemorates student’s success.
Japanese martial arts schools or associations can order a custom rank certificate brushed in Japanese calligraphy.
I will work with you on the layout and translation to create the perfect certificate for your school. However, at the moment, I do not have the resources to translate custom certificate texts. Unless the Japanese version is provided, a standard martial arts text will be used.
You will receive a digital image file (PNG or PDF) with a master certificate template along with a separate sheet with all the ranks (kyu and dan) as well as numbers for dates. With your order, a limited usage license is included that allows you to create and print as many certificates as you need using the master template.
The estimated time of completion for custom rank certificates is between 3-4 weeks after ordering.
